Me, Myself and I...as a product...

Think of yourself as a "product".  Describe the other 3 P's of the marketing mix -- that is, how will you market yourself to a potential employer.

Product: Hello, my name is Aislynn and I would like to think that I am an unique product.  I like to think that I am a high quality product and due to the fact that I am one of the few from the 'Aislynn' line, I am in few supply.  I can be featured in both academic and  athletic venues and can only be returned if the task asked was not or cannot be completed in the time given. Because of my small size, traveling is not an issue and can usually be anywhere in the continental U.S. in 3-5 business days. Cost will depend on where Aislynn will be shipped and urgency.

Place: Headquarters is stationed in south east Massachusetts closest to the major cities of Providence, RI, Worcester and Boston.  Like I stated earlier, there are not many Aislynn's located in the United States and for additional costs we can check our additional inventory located in Ireland.  Transport will be by either ground or air travel depending on location.  The farther the distance away from the north east United States, the higher the price is going to be.

Promotion:  Most advertizing is done via personal appearances, business cards, resumes, the Keene State athletic website, Facebook and Twitter; a LinkedIn account will be created shortly and will also be a big part of our advertizing plan. Aislynn goes through a four year period of college training and maturing in order to be ready for sales promotions, if Aislynn is not ready to be publicly introduced at the conclusion of her time at Keene State, she will be sent to more schooling elsewhere to hopefully prepare her for more training and to obtain a job of choice. Cost will depend on final position offered after the either four or eight year preparation period.

Price:  Aislynn does not come at a cheap price but in this economy, she is affordable. For direct rates you must contact Aislynn herself via phone or an in-person interview to finalize pricing.  There are no discounts allowed, every penny you spend you will not regret. The first payment must be made within a month of the purchase of Aislynn and check or direct bank payments are preferred.

Trying to sell myself as a product at first sounded a bit odd and non important but while brainstorming through this post, I realized we sell ourselves any time we are trying to obtain a job. We will soon be totally on display in front of very important people to try and sell ourselves so that we can be a part of their company. Our time at Keene State is our preparation and "packaging" time in order for us to be the best "products" we can be before being purchased by an employer.  What do you think is more important when going for an interview, having your personal 'product' sell itself or having your 'promotion' be extensive and perfected?
